Bulk Mailing Services
Royal Mail provide a number of different bulk mail services, all of which can be processed by Low Cost Mailing.
By using our bulk mail services, you can save up to 30% on your postage costs!
Cleanmail
The most simple level of processing, the Cleanmail service ensures that addresses are spelled correctly and the post town matches the postcode. For mailing campaigns with a minimum mailing quantity of 1000 items. Each item must be printed with a Customer Barcode (CBC) or must use an OCR readable font.
Mailsort 120
For mailing campaigns where each item is less than 100g with a minimum mailing quantity of 4000 items. Each item must be printed with a Customer Barcode (CBC) or must use an OCR readable font.
The mailed items must comply with strict Royal Mail guidelines, and Low Cost Mailing are accredited to ensure that all guidelines are met and that the items are prepared fully for a successful mailing.
Mailsort 700
For mailing campaigns where each item is less than 100g but with a minimum mailing quantity of 10,000 items. Each item must be printed with a Customer Barcode (CBC).
Low Cost Mailing are accredited to ensure that all Royal Mail guidelines are met and that the items are prepared fully for a successful mailing.
Mailsort 1400
If your campaign mailing contains at least 4000 Letter-sized items, or 1000 Large Letters, A3 Packets or Packets, then the Mailsort 1400 service can save you up to 30% on your postage costs.
Mailsort Light
The Mailsort Light service is used in conjunction with a main campaign mailing and generally takes the form of a reminder or advertising 'teaser'. Providing your mailing contains at least 4000 items, and that each item weighs no more than 15g, the Mailsort Light service can save you up to 30% on your postage costs per mailing.
Use it in conjunction with Mailsort to increase your customer response and reduce costs. Please note that the Mailsort Light service is for advertising materials only and is not available for transactional mail such as bills or statements.
Walksort
Walksort is the highest level of processing, and sorts the mailing down to individual rounds, enabling Royal Mail to give it straight to their delivery staff. This makes the Walksort option particularly suitable for localised regional mailings.
For mailing campaigns where each item is can be no more than 750g but with a minimum mailing quantity of 4000 Letter-sized items, or 1000 Large Letters, A3 Packets or Packets.
There are two levels of service for Walksort:
- Walksort 1 - next working day delivery.
- Walksort 2 - delivery within 3 working days.
Walksort is ideal for very large mailings.
Presstream
The Presstream service is for magazines, journals or newsletters and is aimed at publishers. The minimum requirement is 1000 Large Letters, A3 Packets or Packets to be distributed at least twice a year. The Presstream service can handle items up to 2kg and there are 3 service levels available:
- Presstream 1 - next working day delivery.
- Presstream 2 - delivery within 3 working days.
- Presstream Premium - posts up to 1:00am and aims for same day delivery.
